Florianópolis/SC!!

Boa Noite!!!

Bem vindos a Florianópolis, capital do estado de Santa Catarina e carinhosamente chamada de Floripa! Saímos de Curitiba sexta-feira cedo e fomos para o Beto Carrero World, onde passamos a tarde toda!! Todos nós curtimos MUITO!! Chegamos aqui em Floripa à noite, e o clima está um pouco mais quente do que em Curitiba!

Hoje saímos cedo para um passeio de barco na Lagoa da Conceição, ponto turístico natural mais conhecido da cidade. Paramos em um restaurante à beira da lagoa e almoçarmos um delicioso peixe ao molho de camarão! Em seguida fomos conhecer a famosa Praia da Joaquina e suas dunas, onde vários intercambistas aproveitaram para fazer Sandboard e os mais corajosos nadaram no mar bem gelado!!

Agora à noite tivemos uma festinha com direito a mesa de frutas e um delicioso bolo de chocolate com morango para comemorarmos os aniversários da viagem: José Alfredo (22/03) e o meu aniversário também, que está chegando (03/04). Tudo isso ao som de um animado DJ! Curtimos bastante!!

Amanhã cedo vamos para uma das cidades mais charmosas do Rio Grande do Sul, que reflete bem o clima das cidades Européias: Gramado. De lá, mando mais notícias!

Good Evening Everyone!!

Welcome to Florianópolis, capital of Santa Catarina state and affectionately known as Floripa! We left Curitiba Friday early, and went to the Beto Carrero World, where we spent the whole afternoon! We had a lot of fun over there!! We arrived at night, and the climate is slightly warmer than in Curitiba!

Today we left early for a boat ride on “Lagoa da Conceição”, most famous natural landmark of the city. We stopped at a restaurant on the edge of the lake, and we ate a delicious lunch: fish with shrimp sauce! In the afternoon we went to the famous Joaquina Beach, where many students had fun sandboarding on the dunes and the brave ones swam at the really cold water!!

At night we had a party with a tropical fruit table and a delicious chocolate with strawberries cake to celebrate the birthdays of the trip: José Alfredo (22/03) and mine, which is coming (03/04). All this to the sound of a great DJ: we enjoyed a lot!

Tomorrow early we are going to one of the most charming cities of Rio Grande do Sul state, which reflects well the climate of European towns: Gramado. From there, I'll send more news!

Curitiba, Paraná State!!

Boa Noite a todos!!!

Que frio está fazendo aqui!!!!

Hoje pela manhã começamos os passeios por essa cidade que é um mosaico de culturas e é muito apreciada principalmente pelos arquitetos e urbanistas. Visitamos o Museu Oscar Niemeyer e o Bosque João Paulo II pela manhã!

Almoçamos então no famoso Madalosso, um dos maiores restaurantes do mundo, que possui 8 salões com capacidade de aproximadamente 4.600 lugares no charmoso Bairro de Santa Felicidade, conhecido como Bairro Gastronômico de Curitiba. À tarde continuamos nosso tour pelo Jardim Botânico, Opera de Arame e finalizamos o tour aqui próximo ao hotel na rua XV, para jantar e fazer algumas comprinhas! Muitos aproveitaram para comprar casacos de frio: esta muuuito mais frio do que estávamos esperando!

Amanhã cedo partimos para Florianópolis, mas antes vamos ter um dia de diversão no Beto Carrero World, O MAIOR PARQUE TEMÁTICO DA AMÉRICA LATINA (http://www.betocarrero.com.br/): com certeza todos nós vamos aproveitar muito!!! Da capital de Santa Catarina mando mais notícias!

Good Evening all!!

OMG It is REALLY cold here!!!

This morning we started the tours in this city that is a mosaic of cultures and is particularly appreciated by architects. We visited the Museum Oscar Niemeyer and the John Paul II bush in the morning!

Then we had lunch at the famous Madalosso, one of the largest restaurants in the world, which has eight halls with a capacity of approximately 4,600 seats in the charming neighborhood of Santa Felicidade, known as the Gastronomic Quarter of Curitiba. In the afternoon we continue our tours: we went to the Botanical Garden, Wire Opera house and finish the tour nearby the hotel in XV Street for dinner and shopping! Many took the opportunity to buy coats of cold: it is much colder than we were expecting!

Tomorrow morning we leave for Florianopolis, but before we are going to have a fun day in Beto Carrero World, THE LARGEST THEMATIC PARK IN LATIN AMERICA (http://www.betocarrero.com.br/ ): Surely we'll all enjoy a lot!! From the Santa Catarina’s capital I’ll send more news!

Chegamos em Curitiba!!! / We arrived in Curitiba!!

Boa Noite!!

Escrevo agora de Curitiba, capital do Paraná e a maior cidade da região Sul do Brasil: aqui a temperatura já caiu um pouco, e está muito agradável!!! Chegamos aqui agora e demos as boas vindas a mais 6 intercambistas que se juntaram ao grupo nessa parte da viagem: Daniela, Ashleigh, Frederike, Rogelio e Mario! Sejam bem-vindos!!!

I write now from Curitiba, capital of Paraná state and largest city in southern Brazil: here the temperature has fallen a little, and is very nice! We arrived here now and six exchange students joined the group in this part of the trip: Daniela, Ashleigh, Frederike, Rogelio and Mario! Welcome guys!!

Foz do Iguaçu, PR!!!

Boa noite queridos seguidores do blog!

Ainda estamos em Foz, essa cidade maravilhosa e cheia de maravilhas naturais!

Segunda-feira, após a orientação, fomos para as Cataratas no Parque Nacional Del Iguazú, na Argentina. Lá vimos a maior, mais majestosa e impressionante queda: “Garganta del Diablo”, com seus 150m de largura e 84 metros de altura! Todos ficaram impressionados! Logo após o passeio, passamos para algumas comprinhas no Duty Free da cidade de Puerto Iguazú! À noite, fomos jantar em um restaurante onde comemos um delicioso rodízio de pizza!

Ontem após o café da manhã fomos visitar o Paraguai, outro país vizinho do Brasil: como lá os impostos são muito baixos, os intercambistas (e nós também da coordenação, claro) se esbaldaram; compraram relógios, óculos, tênis, casacos, eletrônicos... tudo a um preço muito baixo! À noite, um espetáculo cultural: fomos jantar no Rafain Churrascaria Show, um restaurante com uma variedade gigantesca de comida, churrasco e música. No Rafain, teve uma apresentação de danças típicas de vários países: curtimos bastante!!

Hoje saímos cedo para conhecer Itaipu, a usina hidrelétrica considerada como uma das sete maravilhas da engenharia moderna, de acordo com a lista publicada pela revista “Popular Mechanics”, dos Estados Unidos. Depois, partimos para mais uma aventura; fomos para o Parque Nacional do Iguaçu, no lado Brasileiro, onde fizemos o Macuco Safári Ride, um radical passeio de barco no Rio Iguaçu. O barco vai simplesmente EMBAIXO das cataratas, o que da uma mistura de medo com excitamento, além de todos saírem totalmente molhados! Foi certamente um dos melhores passeios da viagem!

A noite...mais emoção! Jantamos em nosso hotel e logo em seguida tivemos o Show de Talentos! Foram 09 apresentações com direito a muita risada e diversão!!!

Amanhã cedo, após o café da manhã, vamos nos despedir dessa maravilhosa cidade e seguiremos viagem para Curitiba, a capital do Paraná!!! Vamos nos despedir também dos intercambistas que optaram pelo tour somente a Foz: vocês vão fazer falta: Maggie, Liz, Pepe, Soa, Florent e Apple!!

Good night dear blog followers!

We are still in Foz, this wonderful city, full of natural wonders!

Monday, after the orientation, we went to the Falls in Parque Nacional Del Iguazú, in Argentina. There we saw the largest, most majestic and impressive fall: "Garganta del Diablo", with its 150m wide and 84 meters high! All were impressed! Shortly after the tour, we went to the Duty Free in Puerto Iguazú, to make some shopping! At night we had dinner at an “all you can eat” pizza restaurant!!

Yesterday after breakfast we went to visit Paraguay, another neighboring country of Brazil. As they have very low taxes, the students (and also us, the coordinators of course lol) bought a lot!!! Watches, sunglasses, shoes, coats, electronics... all at a very low price! In the evening, a cultural spectacle: we had dinner in Rafain Show Steakhouse, a restaurant with a huge variety of food, barbecue and music. In Rafain, we saw a presentation of traditional dances from various countries: quite enjoyed!

Today we left early to Itaipu, a hydroelectric power plant considered one of the seven wonders of modern engineering, according to a list published by the magazine "Popular Mechanics", in United States. Then we set off for another adventure, we went to the Parque Nacional do Iguaçu, at Brazilian side, where we took the Macuco Safari Ride, a radical boat ride on the Iguazu River. The boat goes UNDER the falls, which is a mixture of fear with excitement, and everyone leaves totally wet! It was certainly one of the best rides of the trip!

At night ... more excitement! We had dinner at our hotel and than we had the Talent Show! We had 09 presentations with much laughter and fun!

Tomorrow early, after breakfast, we will leave this wonderful city and go to Curitiba, the capital of Paraná state! We will also leave the exchange students who opted for the tour only to Foz: we will miss you a lot: Maggie, Liz, Pepe, Sounds, Florent and Apple!

Chegamos em Foz do Iguaçu: e a viagem começou!! / We arrived in Foz do Iguaçu: and the trip began!!!

Boa noite a todos!!!

Chegamos a Foz do Iguaçu, uma das cidades brasileiras mais visitadas por turistas de todo o mundo!! Localizada à margem do Rio Paraná, faz fronteira com o Paraguai e Argentina.

Chegamos aqui 19:00, depois de quase 27 horas de viagem e uma parada técnica para descanso e segurança em Araçatuba, pois não fazermos viagens noturnas. Apesar desse tempo grande de viagem, a viagem passou voando; assistimos vários filmes e sempre observando uma paisagem maravilhosa!!

Aqui em Foz encontramos mais 6 intercambistas e nossa querida chaperone do Distrito 4580 Angela Rezende, fechando o grupo dessa primeira parte da viagem!

Amanhã vamos ter a Orientação Geral da viagem, na qual daremos várias dicas de como aproveitar melhor a viagem, cuidar da saúde dentre outras informações importantes e muito úteis aos estudantes e em seguida já começam os passeios por aqui: visitaremos as Cataratas no Parque Nacional Del Iguazú, na Argentina.

Hoje oficialmente começa nosso fantástico tour a essa região do Brasil! Mando mais noticias em breve!

Good evening everyone!

We arrived in Foz do Iguaçu, one of the most visited cities in Brazil by tourists from all around the world! Located on the shore of Parana River and borders with Paraguay and Argentina.

We arrived here 7pm, after nearly 27 hours of travel and a technical stop for rest and also for safety in Araçatuba, because we do not make overnight trips. Despite this huge time travelling, the trip flew by: we watched several movies and always watching a wonderful landscape!

Here we met 6 other exchange students who came straight to Foz and our dearest Chaperone Angela Rezende, from Rotary District 4580: now the group is complete at this first part of the trip!

Tomorrow we will have our General Orientation for the trip, when we will give many tips on how to spend the time better, take good care of the health and other important and useful information for the students and just after our tours around here starts: we will visit the Iguazu National Park in Puerto Iguazú, Argentina.Today officially begins our fantastic tour to this region of Brazil! I'll send more news soon!

South American Adventure 2012 has started!

Exchange students have just boarded at Belo Horizonte, starting the South American Adventure 2012 Trip. After here, others will join the trip at Uberaba, Araçatuba and Foz do Iguaçu. The tours itself, start on March 25^th in Foz, after the General Orientation of the trip. Then, they will visit the South of Brazil (Curitiba, Florianópolis, Gramado, Canela and Porto Alegre) and at the end Uruguay and Argentina.
