Chegamos agora a Belo Horizonte!

A maioria dos estudantes já ficou pelo caminho, e agora só estou com os estudantes que vão desembarcar amanhã daqui!

Gostaria de aproveitar a oportunidade para agradecer nossa coordenação, motoristas e especialmente a nossa queridíssima chaperone Ângela Resende (Distrito 4580) por me ajudar a cuidar dos meninos!! (Também por ser medica e consultora de compras)!!rs Aos estudantes por terem sido ótimos! Vou sentir saudades!!!

Espero que tenham gostado das notícias e das fotos! Muito obrigada pelo carinho, e vejo vocês na nossa próxima aventura, que é exatamente daqui a 9 dias: a tão esperada viagem para a AMAZÔNIA!!!! Agora é contagem regressiva!!

Good Evening!!

We just arrived in Belo Horizonte!!

Most of the exchange students have already gone, and now I am just with the students who will disembark tomorrow from here!

I would like to thank our coordination, drivers, and a special thanks to our chaperone Angela Resende (District 4580) for helping me to take care of the kids and for being a wonderfull company!! (Also Doctor and shopping consultant)!! As well to the students for being great throughout the trip!! I will miss all of you!!

I hope that everyone has enjoyed the news and pictures! Thank you very much for everything, and see you on the next adventure, which will start in exact 9 days: THE AMAZON trip!!! Now is countdown to the trip!!

We arrived in Brazil! I write now from Foz do Iguaçu, after a LOOONG ride since Buenos Aires and a stop on the way in Posadas (Argentina)to rest.

Today we said goodbye to many students who disembarked here, and tomorrow we will continue our journey to Belo Horizonte, where the trip ends!

Mi Buenos Aires Querido....

Muy Buenas Noches!!

Escrevo agora da cidade de Buenos Aires (em português Bons Ares), capital federal da República da Argentina, segunda maior cidade da América do Sul e um dos maiores centros urbanos do MUNDO!!

Chegamos aqui no Domingo, e na segunda-feira pela manhã já saímos para um city tour panorâmico por essa maravilhosa cidade. Passamos pelos principais pontos como Avenida 9 de Julio (a mais larga do mundo), Avenida Corrientes e Plaza de Mayo, onde vimos o Cabildo e Casa Rosada (sede da Presidência). Em seguida visitamos o Teatro Colón e sua grandiosidade! Fomos também ao bairro La Boca; entramos no famoso La Bombonera (estádio de futebol do Boca Juniors), e fomos ao Caminito, onde vários estudantes tiraram as típicas fotos com dançarinos de Tango! A noite, jantamos no Hard Rock Café: todos adoraram!!!

Hoje continuamos nosso city tour por essa belíssima cidade! Em seguida conhecemos o bairro mais chique de Buenos Aires: Recoleta. Andamos pela Avenida Alvear, onde se encontram grifes famosas, prédios e construções belíssimas. Visitamos também o cemitério de La Recoleta: é uma obra de arte!! Tivemos almoço livre e a tarde fomos para a famosa Rua Florida para claro, mais compras!!

Agora à noite saímos para jantar e assistir a um show de Tango no espetacular “Esquina Carlos Gardel”. É um restaurante que mais parece um teatro, com uma comida deliciosa. A apresentação de tango é espetacular: mostra o tango desde suas origens até os dias de hoje! Todos saíram de lá querendo aprender a dançar tango!!

Nossa viagem está chegando ao fim. Amanhã cedo já vamos começar nossa jornada de volta até o Brasil, onde faremos os desembarques de todos os estudantes. O clima já é de despedida....

Escrevo então as ultimas notícias assim que possível!

Muy Buenas Noches!!

I’m writing now from the city of Buenos Aires, the federal capital of the Republic of Argentina, second largest city of South America and one of the largest urban centers in the WORLD!

We arrived here Sunday, and Monday morning we already started our tours here! We went out for a panoramic city tour of this marvelous metropolis. We saw such points of interest as Avenida 9 de Julio (the widest avenue in the world!), Avenida Corrientes and Plaza de Mayo, where we saw the the Cabildo and the Casa Rosada (headquarters of the Presidency). We also visited the huge Colón theatre! Next we went to the neighborhood of La Boca; entering the famous La Bombonera (soccer stadium of Boca Juniors), and we went to Caminito street, where various exchange students took the typical photos with Tango dancers! At night, we had dinner at the Hard Rock Café: everyone really enjoyed it!!

Today we continued our tour through this wonderful city! We went to the neighborhood that is known as the most glamorous in Buenos Aires: Recoleta. We walked along Avenida Alvear, where we found beautiful constructions and buildings. We also visited the cemetery of La Recoleta: an absolute work of art!! We had a free lunch and during the afternoon we went to the famous Florida Street to make more purchases!!

At Night we went out to dinner and to watch a Tango show at the spectacular “Esquina Carlos Gardel”. It is a marvelous restaurant that seems like a theatre, with delicious food. The tango presentation was unbelievably spectacular: it showed the Tango since its origin until nowadays! Everyone wanted to learn how to dance as a result!!

Our trip is almost at the end. Tomorrow early we will start our journey back to Brazil, where we will make all disembarks. Everybody is really sad because the trip is finishing….

Montevideo, Uruguay!!!

Buenas Noches!!!

Escribo ahora directamente desde la capital de Uruguay… opa….ando escutando muito español por aquí!! :)

Escrevo agora da capital do Uruguai, Montevidéu! Chegamos aqui na sexta-feira na hora do almoço, fizemos check in em nosso hotel e saímos para almoçar. À tarde começamos nossos passeios por essa histórica capital! Fomos ao Portal da cidade, Palácio Legislativo, visitamos os elegantes bairros residenciais de Carrasco, Punta Gorda e Pocitos e a excepcional “Rambla” (para nós, beira-mar) que muitos comparam com a famosa praia de Copacabana/RJ (claro, em menor escala). Em seguida fomos ao shopping, onde todos aproveitaram para fazer mais compras, e passear!

Hoje continuamos nosso tour por aqui! Visitamos o Mausoléu Artigas, Parque dos Aliados e Monumento La Diligência, e tivemos tempo livre no tradicional Mercado do Porto onde alguns saborearam um típico almoço Uruguaio. No final da tarde, fomos conhecer o comércio da Avenida 18 de Julho, ao lado do nosso hotel!

Amanhã seguimos viagem para Colônia de Sacramento, reconhecida pela UNESCO como Patrimônio da Humanidade. De lá, cruzaremos a Foz do Rio del Plata de ferry boat (Buquebus) até a tão esperada capital da Argentina, Buenos Aires. Essa travessia é muito utilizada entre Argentinos e Uruguaios para encurtar a viagem em várias horas (a travessia de barco dura apenas uma hora e meia)!! Da capital do Tango, mando mais notícias!!

Buenas Noches!!!

Escribo ahora directamente desde la capital de Uruguay… ops…sorry… I've been listening a lot Spanish here! :)

I am writing now from the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo! We arrived here Friday morning, checked in at our hotel and had lunch near the hotel. In the afternoon we went to visit this historical capital! We went around the fancy and rich neighborhoods of Carrasco, Punta Gorda and Pocitos and we also visited the amazing “Rambla” (road between the sea and the buildings) that a lot of people find similar to the famous Copacabana beach, Rio de Janeiro (of course, smaller). Just after we went to the mall, where everybody spent their time shopping!!

Today we continued our city tour! We visited the Port of the city, Palácio Legislativo, Mausoléu Artigas, Parque dos Aliados and Monumento La Diligência. Then we had free time at the famous city Market, where some tasted the traditional flavors of Uruguay. In the afternoon we went to see and enjoy the stores of the 18th of July Avenue, next to our hotel.

We had a great time here! Tomorrow morning we will continue our journey to Colônia de Sacramento, recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage! From there, we will cross La Plata River by ferry boat until the so expected capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires. This journey is well known and used by Argentines and Uruguayans to make the trip in a shorter time (just 1 hour and a half by ferry)! From the Tango Capital, I will send more news!!

Punta Del Este, Uruguai!!

Boa Noite!!

Escrevo diretamente de Punta del Este, Uruguai, um dos dez balneários de luxo mais famosos do Mundo e um dos mais charmosos da América Latina!!

Chegamos aqui na ontem à noite, após uma longa viagem de Porto Alegre para cá. Fomos direto jantar em uma pizzaria e em seguida viemos para nosso hotel descansar!!

Hoje tivemos manhã livre para curtir a Praia Brava, em frente ao nosso hotel e fazer várias compras na famosa Avenida Gorlero!

Após o almoço começaram nossos passeios por esse maravilhoso balneário. Visitamos a península, o farol, o porto, La Barra (com suas pontes ondulantes), Beverly Hills (com suas mansões de tirar o fôlego) e no final da tarde fomos para Punta Ballena, onde visitamos a o Casapueblo, que é a antiga casa de verão do artista uruguaio Carlos Páez Vilaró e é agora uma cidadela-escultura que inclui um museu, uma galeria de arte e um hotel. O lugar é de uma beleza inexplicável!! Em seguida fomos jantar e logo após fomos visitar o enorme e tradicional Cassino Conrad! Pena que não pode tirar foto lá dentro...

Amanhã cedo partimos para Montevidéu, capital e maior cidade do Uruguai! De lá, escrevo contando as novidades!

Good Evening!

Today I write from Punta del Este, Uruguai, that is, undoubtedly, the most popular seaside resorts area in the country and one of the 10th most luxury in the world! It’s also one of the most charming of Latin America!

We arrived here yesterday night, after many hours of travel by bus from Porto Alegre. We went straight to have dinner and then came to our hotel to rest!

Today we had the morning free to enjoy Brava Beach, in front of our hotel and do some shopping at the famous Gorlero Avenue, also next to the hotel!
In the afternoon we began our activities at this marvelous peninsula. We visited the lighthouse, the port, La Barra (with the bridge with a wave like structure), Beverly Hills (with its breathtaking mansions) and late in the afternoon we went to Punta Ballena, where we visited the Casapueblo, which is was an old summer house of the Uruguayan artist Carlos Paez Vilaro and is now a citadel-sculpture which includes a museum, an art gallery and a hotel. Just after, we went dinner and then get to visit the enormous Casino Conrad! Too bad we could not take pictures inside of it!

Tomorrow morning we leave for Montevideo, the capital and largest city of Uruguay! From there, I will write telling the news!

Gramado/Canela RS!!

Bom dia!!!

Hoje é um dia muuuuito especial....meu aniversário!! :)

Bem Vindos a Gramado, no Rio Grande do Sul! Aqui realmente podemos entender porque é conhecida como “um pedacinho da Europa no Brasil”. Além da arquitetura e costumes, a temperatura é mais baixa! Eu sou apaixonada por essa região!

No dia que chegamos fomos direto conhecer uma fábrica de chocolate, onde tem o MAIOR COELHO DE CHOCOLATE DO MUNDO: todos tiraram muitas fotos!

Ontem pela manhã começaram nossos passeios. Partimos para a cidade de Canela à 6km de distância daqui, e fomos conhecer o Parque do Caracol! Lá eles ficaram sem palavras com a linda cascata de 131 metros de altura: e alguns foram beeeem animados e desceram a escadaria de 726 degraus para chegar à base da cascata! Em seguida partimos para o Castelinho Caracol. Lá dentro existe um pequeno museu com objetos da colonização alemã e os estudantes ainda tiveram a oportunidade de saborear o melhor Apfelstrudel (torta de maçã) da região! Os intercambistas alemães que estão em nossa viagem vibraram e claro, todos experimentaram!! Em seguida fomos visitar o Mundo a Vapor, onde encontramos a menor fabrica de papel do mundo!
Almoçamos e tivemos tempo livre no centro de Canela para algumas comprinhas. Em seguida visitamos a fábrica de couro Black Bull, onde fizemos um desfile de moda com as roupas de couro!!

No final da tarde visitamos o Parque Knorr (Aldeia do Papai Noel). Lá nós mergulhamos no mundo do Papai Noel visitando sua casa, fábrica, renas e até experimentando um simulador de neve!! Em seguida fomos jantar em um autêntico “Café Colonial” da Serra Gaúcha, onde saboreamos tortas doces e salgadas, salgadinhos, queijos, frios, tortas entre outras delicias que vocês nem imaginam: e fizemos um brinde à essa viagem maravilhosa com um delicioso suco de uva da região!

Hoje acordamos um pouco mais tarde, fizemos check out e visitamos o Museu Hollywood Dream Cars. Lá os meninos se apaixonaram com a exposição de carros antigos e motos de modelos famosos como Halley Davidson e Ford. Tudo isso ao som de musicas de Elvis Presley! Em seguida fomos para o Lago Negro, onde alguns andaram de pedalinho enquanto outros curtiram a manhã deitados na beirada do lago.

Os passeios aqui foram maravilhosos!!

Vamos partir daqui a pouquinho para Porto Alegre, última cidade no Brasil que vamos visitar nessa viagem mavarilhosa: em seguida partimos para Uruguai e Argentina!! De lá, mando mais notícias!!

Good morning!!!

Today is a REALLY special Day....my birthday!! :)

Welcome to Gramado!! Here we can really understand why this city is known as “a little piece of Europe in Brasil”. Besides the architecture and the clothing, the temperature is also lower! I just LOVE this region!!

The day we arrived we went straight to meet a chocolate factory, where has the BIGGEST CHOCOLATE BUNNY IN THE WORLD: all took lots of pictures!Yesterday morning we began our activities. We left for the city of Canela, six kilometers away from here and went to explore the Caracol Park! There the exchange students were treated to a beautiful view of a 131 meter tall waterfall! Some of them were veeeery brave to go down the staircase of 726 steps to reach the base of the waterfall Next we left for Castelinho Caracol! Inside of it there is a small museum of the German colonization of the area, as well as the opportunity to taste a delicious Apfelstrudel (apple pie) of the region! The German students on the trip cheered about it! After this we visited Steam World, where we found the smallest paper factory in the world.

We ate lunch and had some free time in the beautiful center of Canela for some shopping. Just after we went to Black Bull, a factory of leather: there, we made a fashion show: we have many talents in our group! J Late afternoon we visited the Knorr Park (Santa Claus Village). There we immerse ourselves into the world of Santa Claus visiting his house, factory, reindeers and even experiencing a simulator of snow! After we ate dinner at the authentic “Café Colonial” of Serra Gaúcha, where we tasted sweet and salty pies, cheeses, and other delicious that you probably cannot imagine: and of course, we made a toast to this perfect trip with a delicious grape juice of the region!!

Today we woke up a little later, checked out and visited the Museum Hollywood Dream Cars. There the students fell in love with an exhibition of vintage cars and motorcycles of famous models such as Halley Davidson and Ford. All this to the sound of music from Elvis Presley! Then we went to the Black Lake, where some exchange students pedaled swan boats around the lake while others enjoyed the morning lying on the edge of the lake

The adventures here were marvelous!

We are soon leaving for Porto Alegre, the last city of Brasil that we will visit on the South American Adventure: next we will leave for Uruguay and Argentina!! From there, I will send more news!!
